ArtWorks Academy of Performing Arts has been serving the community for 11 years.  Students come from all over the metro and surrounding towns to receive a multifaceted education in the arts.  Due to the quality instruction received, family friendly environment and all in one scheduling options, we are outgrowing our current location.  To better serve our current students and introduce the arts to new students, we are expanding!

ArtWorks Academy is thrilled to announce the addition of three satellite locations! In addition to our main campus in north Norman, we will now offer classes in Moore, Newcastle and in the SE Norman/Noble area.  The instructors at all four locations are passionate about teaching and inspiring their students.

Classes at the Moore Satellite location will be held at:

The Road Church

Tap, Twirl and Tumble: 3-4 year olds

Our newly reformatted preschool classes now include preballet, tap and beginning acro skills! Our youngest dancers will develop rhythm and musicality through tap.  They will learn the basics of ballet while developing their gross motor skills, balance, and grace.  Finally, they will work through the primary level of the Acrobatic Arts syllabus to gain strength and flexibility that will help them in all future dance endeavors - ballet, tap, jazz, and advanced acro!  Start your young dancer off right with a balance of strength, musicality, and poise in our TTT classes!

Beginning Musical Theatre: Kindergarten-2nd Grade

This fun and exciting class introduces children to the fundamentals of musical theatre.  Students will explore singing, acting and dancing as they prepare for our production each semester.  This class will give students a solid foundation, which will prepare them for Production Company classes.

Students will perform with our Junior Production Company members in Disney's The Lion King JR. and our spring musical (title TBA).  A couple of Saturday rehearsals are required toward the end of each semester. In addition to the $50.00 monthly tuition, there is also a $55.00 Production Fee due each semester, as well as an annual $25 enrollment fee. The Production Fee helps cover the cost of costumes, theatre rental, set, props, etc.  Click here for more details.

The performances for Disney's The Lion King JR will be January 18-20, 2019.  The Spring musical performances (title TBA) will be June 7-9, 2019.

Acting and Play Production: 5th-12th grade

This is primarily a performance based class, but we will start by learning the fundamentals of acting and audition technique.  Students will apply their knowledge as they audition for our spring play, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood. All students enrolled in the class will be cast in the play. After auditions and casting have concluded, all students will begin to gain the powerful hands on experience of producing a play.  Rehearsals will be held during their normal class time, with the possibility of a few extra rehearsals being called the weeks leading up to the play.

The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood is a straight play and NOT a musical.

Performances for The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood will be April 26-28, 2019.  In addition to the monthly tuition, there is a one time $55 Production Fee, which is due by January 15, 2019.  This fee helps cover the cost of the royalties, theatre rental, costumes, etc.  Parents will receive two free tickets to the play per child enrolled (two total NOT two per show).  Additional tickets can be purchased for $8 each.
