Broadway and Beyond: A Musical Revue: 8th-12th grade

This summer we will be producing a musical revue with 8th-12th grade students and our alumni.  It is audition only, meaning you must audition to be cast and we will select those we feel will be the best fit for the revue.  Auditions will be June 22 (see details below) and rehearsals begin June 26.  If you will be out of town during auditions, please contact us in advance, so we can arrange another audition time for you.

The cast of the revue will be premiering a brand new song by NYC composer, and Oklahoma native, Jamie Buxton!  This will be a wonderful and unique opportunity for all involved.

Auditions:  Auditions will be on Thursday, June 22 at 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm at ArtWorks Academy.  You will sign up to audition during one of those times.   Those auditioning should prepare two songs from contemporary musicals that are 16-32 bars in length.  We will not have an accompanist for this audition, so students will need to bring recorded accompaniment.  They should also come prepared for a dance audition.  The dance will be taught to them at auditions.  Again, if you want to audition, but know you will be out of town that week, please let us know in advance and we will schedule a different time for you to audition.  You can call (405) 397-1824 or email Katie Morris, Director of Music, at katie@artworksacademy.com.  If you don't hear back within 24 hours, please try again, as we will be very busy the two other shows and we don't want to miss your email or call.

As stated above, you will need to select a time and sign up to audition.  If you are planning to also audition for Musical Theatre Company, please sign up for both auditions.  You will use the same song to audition for both and do not need to audition twice, but we need to know who is auditioning for each.  So, if you plan to audition at 4:00 pm, for instance, please register for the MTC audition and the revue audition that are scheduled for 4:00 pm.

Click on the link below and log in to your account or create an account if you are new.  Once you have done that you will see a link to a page that says, '"Ond Day Classes and Auditions." Click on that and scroll through the calendar to find June 22.  You might need to click on 'more' within the calendar if not all four audition options are showing up.
